The Colca Canyon is the second deepest canyon in the world after the Cotahuasi Canyon (also located in Arequipa) and twice as deep as the famous «grand canyon» of us. But more than this, the Colca Valley is full of history, culture, ruins, ancient traditions and belongs to one of the most interesting and intangible attractions in Peru.
Overview
Colca cañon is located to the northeast of the Arequipa region at about 3,600 meters above sea level, very close to the Ampato and Sabancaya volcanoes, is the Colca Canyon, considered one of the deepest in the world, reaching approximately 4,160 meters deep. With vegetation and privileged for its climate, this impressive valley belongs to the province of Caylloma.
