Meet our founder, Edwin Tintaya

Founder of Hummingbird Peru Tours and a guide for more than 15 years

Edwin Tintaya founded Hummingbird Peru Tours to share the Cusco region the way a local guide knows it. He is a tourism professional and a graduate of the Universidad Nacional de San Antonio Abad del Cusco (UNSAAC), and for more than 15 years he has guided travelers along the region’s most iconic routes and through one of the most biodiverse places on Earth, Manu National Park.

In the Andes, Edwin has led treks on the Inca Trail, the Salkantay trek and the Lares trek, as well as classic visits such as the Sacred Valley and the Cusco City Tour. In the rainforest, his deep knowledge of nature tourism in Manu helps travelers spot wildlife, understand the forest and travel responsibly.

Edwin has also handled administration and logistics for volunteer groups led by NGOs in Manu National Park, coordinating people, supplies and schedules in remote places. As founder, he brings that experience to every trip Hummingbird Peru Tours runs: careful planning, small groups and real local knowledge.
